During a plenary session Wednesday, February 13, 2019, the National Assembly has validated mandates of members of parliament from the elections of 30 December 2018.
Among these MPs the unfortunate presidential candidate of December 2018, Martin Fayulu who continue to demand the truth of the polls, as well as the current chief of staff of the head of state Vital Kamerhe without forgetting the Ag. President of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress, UDPS, currently in power in the DRC.
After the mandate validation phase, the Provisional Office of the National Assembly is supposed to set up a commission to draft the internal regulations.
Currently, the lower house of DRC parliament is composed of 485 MPs pending the polls of Butembo, Beni city and territory, and Yumbi planned in March, to make a total of 500 members of parliament.
